I don't normally write poems but I feel inspired having just contemplated nature.
Today I looked out of my window and noticed the grass
The grass is very long and needs to be cut
I don't like having to cut the grass
yet it grows despite my displeasure
Whether it grows in ignorance or defiance it continues to grow
Some say ignorance
Some say defiance
Others say both
Ignorant defiance?
Or defiant ignorance?
I must seek clarification
I thought about cutting the grass
I tried ignoring it
but it is there at the corner of my eye
I thought about scheduling it for a free day
I don't have any free days
In the end I did the only thing a sensible person could do
I closed the curtains

Photos in the wallet
I thought I would share a little of the thoughts and insight into the life of Mr Peter McGeady. Today I realised that I have a photo of myself in my wallet. I am not talking ID card, this a proper passport type photo. Now this made me think. Some people keep photos of their loved ones, children or pets with them. I have a photo of myself. I wondered what this told me about myself. Currently I am wondering why I am sharing this with the world. Maybe it is due to the exhibition side of me. For those who didn't realise there was an exhibitionist side to me have missed some very exciting moments. The photo. It is simply a portrait of me to passport regulations and not at my best. It doesn't really express my charm and sparkle. I can't remember why I would put the photo in my wallet and as convention tells me that wallet photos should be of loved ones, having a photo of myself would seem a bit vain or just bizarre. Should I remove the photo? I have just taken a moment to pause and reflect. The photo is staying.
